Appearance: A large man, Kurin is tall and burly, however, he has a big smile and friendly disposition which puts other people at ease around him. His hair is long and straight, hanging around his shoulders, and it is a dark mahagony brown color. His skin is deeply tanned, and his eyes are hazel brown.
Personality: Kurin's very friendly and outgoing. He has a good, though sometimes dry, sense of humor and his jokes tend to get old fast. He is stern with his archivists and insists that they do all their work, but the rest of the time, he is laid back and carefree.
Past: From a middle-class family of merchants in a large city, he became an archivist and eventually Head Archivist. He used to be married, but his wife died, and they had no children. He started working in a castle, and was sent to Drockh-Tallahn to be the Head Archivist. He's in charge of the record-keeping, but usually sends Lian to oversee the drak hatchings.

Appearance: Lian is tall and thin, gangly, and slightly scrawny. He is pale from spending most of his time in a dark room. His bright eyes are pale blue, covered by slim glasses, which he needs to see. His messy hair is plain brown, short and often unkempt.
Personality: Lian is a quiet and solitary individual. Most everyone agrees he takes his work far too seriously, but nobody has been able to draw him out of his study for any decent length of time. He's gentle and actually quite shy, though friendly, but he does tend to be a bit obsessive.
Past: Lian has spent just about his entire life living in castles. His parents are both knights, and though they had high hopes of him pairing, he was just never interested. He discovered books at a young age, and has been obsessed ever since. He's very interested in history, so it was no surprise that he became an archivist. When he heard of a new castle being built, his curiosity got the best of him, and he ended up at Drockh-Tallahn. He's still a very junior apprentice, but he's the one who records most of the drak hatchings.
A few years ago, he was busy minding his own business, recording the latest hatching, when one of the draklings up and decided to Pair Lian! He was reluctant at the time, but he got over it.
...Then he got roped into sponsoring a pair of draklings.
